Gana Kuta - Vedic Astrology

On the basis of three gunas (Sarya, Rajo, Tamo) each person falls into one of three ganas. The three ganas are Deva, Manushya and Rakshash Gana. In other words gana matching ensures the matching of human minds and temperaments. A matched gana ensures steady and prolonged happiness.

A match is considered excellent if both boy and girl are of same gana. It is considered fair if one is deva and other is manushya. A rakshasa gana person matches only with person with same gana as it is considered not a good match if rakshah gana person marries a deva or manushya gana.

Aswani, Mrigasira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Swathi, Anuradha, Sravana, Revathi nakshatras falls in Deva gana.

Bharani, Rohini, Ardhra, Poorvaphalguni, Uttaraphalguni, Purvashada, Uttarashada, Poorvabhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada falls in Manushya gana.

Krithika, Ashlesha, Makha, Chitra, Visaka, Jyeshta, Moola, Dhanishta, Satabisha falls in Rakshasa gana.

  1. If in a family one member belongs to Rakshas Gana and others belong to either manushya or deva gana, will it be difficult for them to get along.
